MOSCOW, Sep 21 (PRIME) -- Russian companies are ready to participate in construction of a natural gas pipeline and a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Morocco, Energy Minister Alexander Novak said in an interview with Rossiya 24 television channel broadcast on Thursday.

“Morocco is interested in supplies of LNG from Russia, in construction of a regasification terminal, and also in construction of a gas pipeline and in using gas as a source of power. The country has a large-scale program for construction of gas-fueled power plants, and our companies are interested in taking part in implementation of these projects, we are ready to supply LNG and to build a gas pipeline with a regasification terminal,” he said.

In March 2016, Russian President Vladimir Putin and King Mohammed VI of Morocco approved a joint statement saying that the two countries plan to improve cooperation in the energy sector in general and in supplies of LNG in particular.
